Instead, many of us often spend that time in front of the mirror putting on makeup, a daily ritual that we would sometimes like to skip altogether. Don’t misunderstand - I LOVE makeup! It can improve your mood, complete a look, or make you look years younger. At times you just don’t have the time, or feel like going to the trouble of applying makeup. Other times maybe you’ve got a camping trip, or family vacation planned so wearing makeup isn’t really an option. What are Lash Extensions?

Lash extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied individually to each natural lash to lengthen and thicken your own lashes. This creates a beautiful lash line that allows you to go mascara-free and is customized to your desired look. Extensions are perfect for everyday wear, vacations or special occasions because they vary in length and thickness so each person can achieve their perfect look! Whether you want understated and natural or full and flirty, we can do that. Due to the way our own natural lashes shed it gives you the freedom to create a new look each time you get a touchup, so if you want a more glamorous look before that important dinner party but generally get your extensions done more natural, it can be changed each appointment to meet your needs.

What is the application process like?

The first application process for lash extensions takes around 2 hours depending on the look you desire. First, you get to lie comfortably on a facial table with your eyes closed while the extensions are applied to each individual eyelash. This is done on a one-on-one basis, until the desired look is achieved. With proper application the look and feel of lash extensions can be weightless, natural and very real. Unlike store-bought strip lashes, nobody will know you have extensions unless you want them to! Plus the time spent laying on the table so comfortably makes for a great opportunity to relax, take a nap or have the table warmer turned on for some added muscle relief.

How long will a set of Lash Extensions last?

When applied correctly and cared for properly, eyelash extensions will last the length of the growth cycle of your natural lashes. Each client's experience will differ based on a few lifestyle factors, but generally, touch ups should be every 2-3 weeks. Touchups are about 1 hour depending on how many weeks it’s been since your last lash refill appointment. The average person loses around 20 natural lashes per week that are naturally replaced with the growth of a new lash, varying growth patterns keep lashes from shedding all at once. With Lash Extensions, the extension is adhered to the natural lash so the synthetic lash falls off when the natural lash sheds. It’s important not to let too much time lapse between touch ups, as enough lashes will shed that a full set maybe necessary.

Who are good candidates for Lash Extensions?

This is the type of service that does require maintenance if you want Lash Extensions for everyday wear. However, the time that you save in your day-to-day life is HUGE. Those that get Lash Extensions love waking up in the morning with fantastic lashes because they can just run out the door and get on with their day. If you have lighter colored, thinning or short lashes – Lash Extensions may be perfect for you! People that are also suited for this service are those that cannot wear makeup due to allergies or sensitivity issues. However, if you have allergies to latex or other adhesives please schedule a free 30 minute consultation before making a lash appointment so you can do a patch test with the adhesive before committing.

What need to be done before the first appointment?

First, if you have any additional questions, concerns or want to get an idea of what your finished look might look like you can schedule a free 30 minute consultation! Please arrive to your appointment 10 – 15 minutes early with clean, dry lashes and makeup free eyes. Do not use waterproof mascara for at least 3-4 days before the first appointment as this leaves a film on the lashes and prevents the extensions from adhering correctly. If you wear contacts you will have to take them out beforehand. Contacts can be put back in as soon as your appointment is over.
